Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Ahmedabad is one of the oldest dental institutes imparting its services to the people of Gujarat and its neighboring states. Established in 1963, the college has garnered a reputation for academic and scientific excellence at national and international level.
The mission of this institute is to educate and impart best knowledge to its students, train them in clinical work and achieve Excellency, and thereby render good services and optimal care to the patients. Our Institute provides undergraduate (BDS) as well as postgraduate (MDS) courses which are recognized by Dental Council of India. Recently, PhD course has also been started at this institution.
The institute is also a recognized center for one year “Certificate course in Endodontic and Implant logy” by IGNOU. With 4 lecture halls, each having a capacity of 100 students and 3 conference room, regular lectures and seminars are delivered using latest audio visual aids. The hospital has a daily OPD of more than 400 patients from Gujarat as well as neighboring states providing quality treatment to them.
About Department
The Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontic has adequate number of electrically operated programmable dental chairs and units which cater to more than 100 patients per day coming from different walks of life.
There are separate undergraduate and postgraduate clinics (AC). Department has very good strength of experienced ,skillful and dedicated teaching staff with 3 Professors, 2 Asst. Professors and 8 lecturers, who are systematically divided in different units to guide and train the UG and PG students. We have 4 PG seats per year as per DCI rules.
Department respects and implements new innovative ideas of UG and PG students. Hi-tech gadgets like digital radiography, laser, magnifying loupes, bleaching light, rotary instruments, electronic apex locator, carrier based thermoplastized objurgating system, etc. are used routinely to give our patients the best possible treatment as economic as possible.
